RSG Conducts Pre-Qualification Exercise On New RSUST Site
Rivers State Government has conducted a pre-qualification tender exercise for the construction of the new state university of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.
Conducting that exercise, Tuesday, at the Government House, auditorium, Port Harcourt, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor and Project Director on the construction of the new University, Mrs Vivien Braide, said over 80 contractors have so far indicated interest in the construction of the university.
Mrs Braide stated that only those contractors that qualified from the pre-qualification stage would be invited to tender for the jobs.
She explained that the exercise was in line with the policy of the present administration to be transparent in award of contracts and assured those that expressed interest that nobody would be discriminate against.
The Senior Special Assistant who asserted that the new university of Science and Technology would be world class institution, noted that only competent contractors would be engaged to achieve the target.
Mrs Braide hinted that the university would have eight faculty buildings with hospitals and churches as well as accommodation for Deans, Vice Chancellor, among others.
