Hayatou Backs Eaglets For Final
The Golden Eaglets who started their World Cup campaign on a shaky note have received the backing from CAF President, Isa Hayatou, who predicted that the John Obuh led team would make it to the final.
Hayatou, who disclosed his unreserved love for Nigeria said that Nigeria has all it takes to successfully defend the trophy they won two years ago in South Korea.
‘I am happy visiting Nigeria to witness another FIFA organised World Cup. My sincere gratitude goes to the FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, who has manifested his love for Africa, giving us the opportunity to host another youth World Cup which we are expecting the biggest of all in South Africa 2010.
“ Iam also happy Africa is fully represented in the competition. I would love at the end of the competition for an African country to lift the trophy just like Ghana did in the just concluded World Youth Championship in Egypt.
Infact I am dreaming of seeing the four African representatives in the finals but in all I would love Nigeria to do us proud through successfully defending the trophy.
I believe they can do it, they have all the stuff it takes. They are blessed with talented players who can give them the result.
