Peace Remains Panacea For Development –Uwom
Sustainability of the existing peace in Abua Kingdom has been described as the only panacea to attract more development in the area.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Housing, Marshall Uwom made the remark on Monday when the community leaders of Uwema Otari in Abua/Odual Local Government Area, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
He said that since the inception of Amaechi’s administration numerous developmental projects have been sited in the area, such as the rehabilitation of Agada 1 and 2 Degema Road, Agba-Ndele/Abua Road and Otari Modern Primary School, among others.
According to him, “I see myself and my appointment as a boost to Abua Kingdom, as I would always liaise with His Excellency to ensure that Abua people are not left out of the people-oriented government of Governor Chibuike Amaechi”.
While thanking them for felicitating with him for his re-appointment, he said that his primary focus is to serve the people of the state well and urged them to support the government of the day both at the local government and state levels as well as sustaining the existing peace with a view to attracting more development in the area.
Earlier, the Otari Community Leaders, led by the Owema of Otari, Chief Ipalibo Obuge, delivered a congratulatory message from the community for his appointment as a commissioner and thanked the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi for appointing their son as a member of the state executive council.
