Sharks Suspend Coaches Over Indiscipline
Following the internal wrangling, and demonstration of indiscipline among the coaches of Sharks FC, of Port Harcourt, Rivers State government has indefinitely suspended four coaches.
This was released by the media officer of the club, Confidence Idaa, in an exclusive interview with Tidesports, on Wednesday, in Port Harcourt.
He said those suspended are Imama Amapakabo, the former Chief Coach, Barnabas Chimezie, assistant coach, Kennedy Boboye also an assistant coach and Adbas Michael, a feeder team coach.
Idaa, continued that government has appointed Ere Dokubo as the interim head coach, adding that until his appointment Dokubo was the chief coach of C.K.C. Football Club, Port Harcourt.
According to Idaa, government decision was also borne out of disunity being exhibited by the coaches.
“We all know that unity and peaceful environment are the panacea for development”, he said.
Reacting to the suspension, the Chairman of Sharks FC supporters club, David Peterside, supported the decision taken by the government, adding that he observed that there was a lot of infighting among the coaches and if that continues it would be difficult for them to perform creditably at the forthcoming season.
“It is the right decision, because there was a lot of quarrels and disunity among them and that would not help the game. I am very happy that government took that step, for the interest of the state’, he said.
He used the forum to advise the head coach in charge not to listen to any gossip, but to be focused in achieving the desires of the people, saying that he should not allow anybody to distract him, stating the need to see the appointment as a challenge in his career.
