Uba Sani Donates Vehicle To NUJ, Kaduna Council
Senator Uba Sani, representing Kaduna Central, on Wednesday, donated a car to the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council.
Sani, through his Chief Zonal Constituency Officer, Abubakar Rabiu, said the saloon car was meant to enhance mobility of the council in ensuring delivery of their mandate of gathering and disseminating information to the public.
He said the gesture of providing mobility for the NUJ Kaduna Council was borne out of the long relationship he had with journalists.
“We felt the donation is our own way of contributing to help effective and prompt information dissemination by the Council, and organising the affairs of the public through enlightenment to know the actualities going on in governance in Kaduna,” he said.
Sani noted that the donation was also aimed at motivating women considering the fact that Kaduna Council is having a female as chairperson piloting its affairs.
“As you all know, I and the governor of Kaduna State, always want to see females holding offices in government and piloting the affairs of strategic places in the society.
“We are very passionate about the media, and that inform our idea of the donation, having to make all possibilities to attend to media engagements when invited.
“The donation is only coinciding with the 59 cars we donated two days ago for our campaign.
“We are actually passionate about the progress of journalists, and this is not our first time of contributing in one way or the other for their success,” he said.
Receiving the key and documents of the car, Chairperson of the Council, Hajiya Asma’u Halilu, thanked the senator for the gesture.
She described the gesture as an achievement of the Council, adding that it would enhance its operations.
