Monarch Commends Group For Successful Retreat
The Onye Ishi Ala of Igbo Kingdom in Etche Local Government Area of the State, King Samuel Ndiwe Amaechi has commended the leadership of Ogbakor Etche ethnic nation for organising a successful Easter Retreat, saying that the gesture would advance the course of socio-economic and political development of the Etche nation.
Amaechi, who is also the paramount ruler of Igbo Kingdom made this assertion while speaking to journalists at the just concluded Ogbakor Etche Easter retreat with the theme, “Agenda Setting” held at the Pastoral retreat Centre in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, recently.
Amaechi averred that he was among those who opposed the choice of the venue of the programme outside Etche land, however, applauded the success and achievements recorded during the one-day retreat.
“Let me commend the leadership from bringing together eminent men and women of Etche ethnic nation from different professions and human endeavours to come and think on the way forward for Etche nation. The retreat is quite encouraging and successful”he stated.
According to the Etche revered monarch, the retreat has been a long years yearning of Etche people ,adding that the people of the area had been longing for both political and economic advancement to be reckoned among its contemporaries
He advised the present leadership of the apex socio-cultural organization of Etche to ensure that it mustered the political will to implement the resolutions reached during the retreat for the betterment of the people
The traditional ruler used the opportunity to call on all stakeholders to uphold those cherished Etche cultural heritage of the people from going in to extinction, adding that culture plays a significant role in the unity of any society.
