Youths Decry Pollution Of Environment In Rivers Community
Youths in Egbema Kingdom in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area under the aegis of Egbema Youth Association, has decried the continuous pollution of their land by the Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC)
The youths who said this during the Egbema joint meeting at Okwuzi also gave the company 72 hours to implement the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the community since 1999.
According to the president of the association, Comrade Emeka Mba, Egbema’s environment has been devastated by long years of oil exploration.
He also accused them for failing to provide potable water to the people.
Also speaking, Secretary General of the Association, Apostle Nnamdi Ijeoma, frowned at the reluctance by the company to implement the memorandum of understanding .
He urged Egbema people to unite for the overall development of their kingdom.
