Group Calls For Strict Adherence To COVID-19 Guidelines
The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Rivers State Chapter has urged the public to still maintain the set preventive guidelines of Coronavirus amidst government’s relaxation of lockdown.
The Coordinator of the Federation, Engr Nsirim Onizor Goddy, while addressing market people during a COVID-19 intervention exercise in Port Harcourt, said this period of relaxation was a very critical moment.
Engr Nsirim noted that no official confirmation had been made regarding the extinction of the deadly virus, hence the need to still remind the people the need to live safe.
“And since government is about relaxing the lockdown of various institutions and business, people will be mixing freely more than what it used to be since the advent of this pandemic,“he said.
“We felt that it is high time for us to come out of this critical period to remind people that COVID-19 is still in existence. It is important for us to do this because if people feel relaxed, this pandemic might end up taking more lives, “ he said.
