Bizman Tasks FG On Ajakuota Steel, Mambilla Power Projects
The National President of Harmonised Traders Union of Nigeria, Dr Bature Abdul’aziz, has urged the Federal Government to expedite action on the completion of Ajakuota Steel and Mambilla power projects.
He told newsmen in Kano at the weekend, that the call was necessary so as to ensure early completion of the projects in view of their importance to the economic development of the country.
“While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for completion of Baro Port, we also want the Federal Government to expedite action to complete the Ajakuota Steel and Mambilla power projects.
“These projects, when completed, will in no small measure improve the nation’s economy, as well as enhance the living standard of Nigerians especially the benefitting communities,”he said.
He also commended the Federal Government for its various intervention programmes especially the Anchor Borrower programme which supports agricultural production in the country.
He said the introduction of the Anchor Borrower programme had not only boost food production, but also encouraged many people including businessmen and women to embrace farming as a business.
He urged the Federal Government to sustain the programme by increasing the number of farmers to benefit from the facility for massive production of other commodities like cocoa, yam, cassava and other vital cash crops.
“Nigeria is blessed with vast fertile land, so government should restrategise to touch other farm produce not only rice,”Abdul’aziz said.
