Odili In Court To Stop Book Presentation
Justice Augusta Uche of State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has fixed 4th of February 2019 for ruling on issue of jurisdiction on a libel suit brought before him by former Governor of Rivers State, Dr Peter Odili against former Chairman of National Human Rights Commission, Chika Odinka and one other.
Odili is seeking an interlocutory injunction to stop further publications and distribution of the a book written by the defendants with the title; Too Good to Die.
The book intended among other things to reveal a verifiable facts some activities of the former Governor and how former President Olusegun Obasanjo plotted and failed in 2006 to amend Nigeria Constitution for a 3rd Term in Office.
Our correspondent reports that when the matter came up in court on Wednesday parties submitted their written addresses and argument on the issue of jurisdiction to hear the matter before Justice Augusta Uche-Chukwu adjourned till 4th for ruling.
Speaking to newsmen outside the court room, defence counsel, Idaye Opi and Kanu Agabi for the plaintiff narrated what transpired in court.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector.
