Rekindle Fire Of Holy Spirit, Preacher Tells Christians
Christians have been told to rekindle the fire of the Holy Spirit as a sustained faith and service.
A Gospel Preacher, Brother Gbile Akanni gave the advice at the closing session of the 7th International Ministers’ Conference of the Greater Evangelism World Crusade held at the World Headquarters of the church, Rukpokwu.
Bro Akanni said, “though this gathering marks the concluding session of the conference, we are commissioning the new life of the ministry” and noted that God was sending forth his servants for more service.
The servant of God stated that: “It is God’s desire that the fire will never go out”.
He said Christians should possess what the fire needed to consume in order to be sustained, adding that the requirements for sustenance include the expectation of the second coming of Jesus Christ, the hope of the glory of serving God, watchfulness and preparedness.
Reiterating that the spiritual life is an individual effort, he exhorted Christians to keep their personal fire alive, like the five wise virgins did and charged the congregation to preach the gospel.
The evangelist encouraged the listeners to use the fire in them for revival and restoration of their spiritual lives, and affect the society and institutions of learning.
“That was what the late Apostle G.D Numbere did and we need to emulate him”.
Earlier, the International Director of Greater Evangelism World Crusade, Pastor Isaac Olori had said holy zeal, the spirit of urgency; clear vision and the power of prayer were the need of the hour.
The conference, which was hosted by Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo and Rivers States featured corporate worship, prayers, plenary session, talks, seminars, over view of the 2016 and 2017 conference performance, thanksgiving by the ministers’ wives and holy communion.
