Four Cultists Killed As Two Rival Groups Clash
Four cult members have been killed in a renewed supremacy battle between two rival cult groups in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
It was learnt that members of one of the rival groups, last Friday, killed a man identified only as God-do-Well at the Swali Market in the Yenagoa metropolis.
Our correspondent gathered that the murder was in retaliation for Thursday’s killing of three of their members by a cult group which God-do-well belonged.
The 34-year-old God-do-well, who hailed from Delta State, was reportedly attacked by about 40 rival cultists with machetes and left in a pool of his blood
It was gathered that God-do-well’s killers stormed the market to drag him out after shooting sporadically into the air to scare traders and later murdered him.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, said only two suspected cultists were killed in the clash.
He added that the police had beefed up security around the market.
