Jigawa Council Awards N23m Water Projects’ Contract
The Guri local government council of Jigawa State says it has awarded N23 million contract for water projects in the area.
The council Chairman, Alhaji Abdulazeez Garba, told newsmen in Guri that the projects were designed to enhance access to safe drinking water at the grassroots.
Garba said that about N8 million would be expended on the rehabilitation of hand pumps and installation of solar panel to enhance water supply at Kazunzumi and other rural communities.
He said that the council had awarded N15 million contract for a mosque project at Kadara community.
Garba said that the council had embarked on viable projects to improve social and economic well-being of the people.
The chairman therefore called on the people to protect water, schools, clinics and other amenities being provided by the government in their respective communities.
