DG To Transform NIMASA Into Shipping Hub
The Director-
General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Dakuku Peterside, has said that the agency would soon be transformed into a shipping hub in Africa.
He said NIMASA has a large capacity to be listed among the country’s highest revenue generation agencies due to its strategic location and nature.
Peterside stated this in Abuja, recently while speaking to newsmen, stressing that the agency has all the required manpower and resources to strike a balance in the shipping world.
He promised that, he would leave a lasting landmark in the agency adding that the agency’s workforce on ground would ease up the process to facilitate revenue generation due to their high level of hardwork and dedication to duties
He pointed out that the agency had had leadership problem in the past, but adding that such challenges would not re-surface again under his leadership.
He said that he planned among other thing, to bequeath to the agency an enduring legacy of a world class standard.
The Tide learnt that NIMASA has the capacity to address the high rate of unemployment in the country through the maritime sector.
He was optimistic about transforming the agency into quality interaction standards with the support of the workers.
He also re-affirmed his determination to provide a level playing ground for all players in the maritime sector.
