Belema Oil Promises 350 Jobs For N’Delta Youth
An indigenous Oil firm,
Belemaoil Producing Limited has promised to provide meaningful employment to over 350 youths in the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
Chairman of the company, Jack-Rich Tein (Jr) who stated this also disclosed that the company has brought the head office of the firm to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Tein, who declared the intention of the oil company to attract investors to the region urged youths of the region and stakeholders in the area to promote programmes and activities of the firm.
Noting that no investor will operate in an atmosphere devoid of peace and security pleaded with youths in the region to be of peaceful disposition, stressing that Rivers people need to think of a better future for the unborn generation by encouraging tolerance, love understanding and brotherly cohesion.
The company chairman disclosed that Belemaoil is currently working with its oversees partners and the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to launch a 30,000 barrel floating refinery and LPG unit, scalable floating power generating barge of 135 megawatts in phase 1 to 650 megawatts in phase 2.
“The power project is to eradicate flared gas and further harness the gas reserves in OML 35 which is over 2tscf”, he said.
When fully deployed, he said, the initiations would be a catalyst for huge technology transfer, employment for the unemployed youths, so as to eradicate undue restiveness, agitations, economic sabotage as well as other unforeseen vices in the communities.
The Chief Media Secretary, Niger Delta Oil Producing Communities Empowerment Forum (NDOPCEF), Comrade Amaibinabo Godswill Tamunofubura praised the management of Belemaoil for the interest in youth development .
Tamunofubura also commended Chevron Nigeria Limited for handing over OML55 fields to Belemaoil.
