RSG Protests Rerun Tribunal Relocation

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dr Austin Tam-George says Rivers State Government is at a loss over the relocation of the rerun Election Petition Tribunal from Port Harcourt to Abuja by the President of the Court of Appeal on the purported reason of insecurity in the state.
Austin Tam-George, in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, said the Rivers State Government was disappointed by the security reason given for the relocation of the tribunal from the state.
He said the relocation of the tribunal from a state that is peaceful raises question on the integrity of the decision by the President of the Court of Appeal.
Tam-George also contended that Rivers State was peaceful compared to some states in the North where several people have been killed, yet tribunals were not relocated from the states.
