CHAN: Any Team Can Win In Rwanda -Bwalys
The President of the
Football Association of Zambia, Kalusha Bwalya, has said any of the 16 teams in the on-going 2016 Orange Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) can win the title.
Speaking to Tidesports source, Bwalya said that there is no favourite in this tournament because all teams are almost at the same level.
“You can see all the three winners in the past tournaments have been different teams,” added Bwalya.
The Championship started on Saturday with hosts Rwanda beating Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 before Morocco and Gabon settled for a goalless draw in another Group A match played at the Amahoro Stadium.
The former Zambia national team skipper said the CHAN tournament is very good because it prepares the younger players to penetrate into the senior team ahead of the Afcon and World Cup qualifiers.
He added that he is looking forward to see how the Zambia team will play in the tournament.
“I hope we can get to the later stages of the tournament so that our players can play as many games as possible to help them prepare for the forth coming 2017 Afcon qualifiers,” he added.
