Wolfsburg, Arsenal Struggle For Osimhen
Bundesliga club
Wolfsburg now look set to beat English Premier League outfit Arsenal to record-breaking top scorer at the recent FIFA U17 World Cup, Victor Osimhen, according to his advisers.
It was learnt from Osimhen camp who are presently in Germany on the invitation of Wolfsburg that Osimhen is impressed with the facilities and ambitions of the German club even though Arsenal have tabled a more tempting offer financially.
“Victor likes what he has seen in Germany and the club really want to have him,” said one of his representatives Ariyo Igbayilola
“If it were all about the money, Arsenal are far ahead, but we have to think first and foremost about the boy’s career, every other thing can follow.
“We don’t have a formal agreement with either club yet because the boy is not yet 18, but it is looking more and more likely we may settle for Wolfsburg.
“But like I have always maintained, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and his family have to be taken along in whatever decision we finally take because he is a national asset.”
Osimhen was top scorer at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile with a record-breaking 10 goals and weeks later he helped Nigeria win the U23 AFCON in Senegal.
