AAG: Coach Predicts Four Gold Medals In Boxing
Head Coach of the Nige
ria Boxing Federation (NBF), Tony Konyegwachie, has said that the boxers for the 11th All Africa Games (AAG) will strive to win at least four gold medals.
The Games are scheduled to hold in Congo Brazzaville from September 4 to September 19.
Konyegwachie made the situation known to newsmen in Lagos said the 13-man boxing team was well prepared.
“We are ready for the Games. All hands are on deck presently and we are sure of coming back to the country with four gold medals.
“Initially, we were expecting two foreign-based boxers, but one of them opted out and only one came for the trials and lost to Loveth Ekusu.
“So, presently, we have three females and 10 men who will go to the AAG and win gold medals for us,’’ he said.
Konyegwachie urged boxing lovers to continue to give their support and not to relent.
