FRSC Seeks Navy’s Collaboration On Road Safety
The Federal Road
Safety Commission (FRSC), Akwa Ibom State Command, has requested for collaboration with the Nigerian Navy to enhance road safety in the state.
The state Sector Commander, Mrs Cecilia Alao, made the call when she led a delegation from the command on a familiarisation tour of NNS Jubilee base in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.
She said the command desired better working relation with the Nigerian Navy to enhance safety on the highways.
“My mission is to get myself acquainted with other sister agencies and to collaborate with them and seek for more synergy because the FRSC cannot do it alone.
“The mission of making sure that people get to their destination in peace at the end of every journey is what everybody should collaborate to do.
“That is why we have come to seek for collaboration and synergise with the Nigerian Navy,’’ Alao said.
She commended the Nigerian Navy NNS Jubilee for the cordial relationship existing between it and the FRSC and promised to sustain it.
Responding, the Commander of NNS Jubilee, Commodore David Adeniran, said the synergy between the Navy and other agencies in the state was strong, and promised to continue to support the FRSC on road management.
“We are all road users, our personnel have to go for their driving test and licenses and beside that we will invite FRSC to come and give us some talks on road safety.
“We hope to arrange programme every quarter where FRSC personnel will train us on how to be safety conscious on the road while driving,’’ he said.
