NFF In Search Of Kit Sponsors
Nigeria football fed
eration (NFF) marketing director Idris Adama has told newsmen in an interview that the federation has opened talks with other kit sponsors as the adidas contract will run out at the end of this month.
“We are speaking with other kit giants but we are also looking for a better deal,” disclosed Adama.
He also revealed that the NFF was yet to receive approval from adidas for an extension of a four-year deal, which comes to and end on December 31, 2014.
“Our contract with adidas is still running. It’s a four-year contract that would run until December 2014,” he said.
“Adidas has indicated interest to extend the contract, but that was before the 2014 World Cup.
“We did the necessary paper works, but unfortunately we are yet to hear from them and with the way it stands, if we don’t hear from them by 31st December, it means we are no longer in contract with adidas.
“And even though we have enough kits that would last till 2015, it would be illegal for us to wear any adidas kit from January 1, 2015.”
