Eguavoen Set To Join Gombe Utd
Former Nigeria coach,
Austin Eguavoen is on the verge of joining up with troubled Gombe United, Tidesports has exclusively learnt.
Eguavoen, who has handled several premier league clubs including Enyimba and Sharks, is to replace ailing Belgian coach, Maurice Cooreman, who has parted company with the northeastern club.
Gombe are second from bottom of the league with 20 points from 19 matches after the first round of the season and Eguavoen would be expected to first take them to safety.
“Everything points to Eguavoen taking over Gombe for the second round of the season,” a top source told Tidesports source
Cooreman, who has handled several top clubs including Enyimba and Kaduna United, has been nursing a back injury which has prevented him from being part of Gombe United’s training and matches.
His last outing with Gombe United was a 3-2 loss at home to champions Kano Pillars.
