Monarch Partners Govt On Environmental Problem
The paramount Ruler of
Oyetile community Unyeada in Andoni Local Government Area High Chief John Lazarus Nteogwuile XVI has pledged to work with the state government to address some environmental challenges facing the area.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after his coronation at the weekend at Unyeada, High Chief Lazarus, said that he is readly to work with the government to check illegal oil bunkering and youth restiveness as well as ensure a clean environment for the people.
The traditional ruler, who also pledged to work with the government to attract amenities to the area regretted that despite their contributions to the economy of the state and the nation, the area has continued to be relegated in terms of development, stressing that effort would be made to draw government attention to the situation.
The new chief also urged youths of Oyetile community to remain peaceful, stressing that he would toe the line of his predecessor, HH Kalada Rogers I. Nteogwuile, who throughout his reign never encouraged violence even in the face of provocation by sections of the area.
He also advised youths of Niger Delta to shun things that would bring destructions to the region.
Earlier, the Acting Chairman of Unyeada Clan Council of Chiefs, Chief Augustine Atteng, who presented the staff of office to the new chief advised him to make peace his watchword as far as the community was concerned.
