Disu Tasks Junior League Players To Emulate Eaglets
Tunde Disu, the Technical Director of Lagos Junior League (J-League), has charged the players to emulate two of their own in the just concluded U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Disu, who lauded the Golden Eaglets for their sterling performance in the ongoing tournament, added that it was quite fulfilling to see J-League products among them.
He told newsmen in Lagos that the inclusion of Akinjide Idowu and Abdullah Alfa in the team would serve as an inspiration for the J-League players.
“I am very proud of the boys; they are good ambassadors of the three-year old league.
“Their contributions to the success story of the Eaglets’ in the football competition in Dubai is worthy of emulation by others,” Disu said.
The technical director recalled that it was the same J-League scheme that brought the two Eaglets to the limelight, and said that the platform was still available for any determined player.
He stressed that what the players needed was self discipline.
“A whole lot of self discipline and self denial is expected from a player to make it to the top.
Disu noted that during their stint in the league, Idowu and Alfa were never found wanting in the discharge of their duties, and implored other budding talents to do likewise.
