Centre Donates Medical Equipment To TIMARIV
The Chief Medical Director of Image Diagonostic Centre, Port Harcourt, Dr. Felix Orondu has donated medical equipment worth thousands of naira to the Rivers State Road Traffic Management Authority (TIMARIV) Medical Unit of zone Five.
Speaking while receiving the equipment on behalf of the Authority, the zonal controller of TIMARIV Zone five, Mr. Chisom Kpaluku said the donation would go a long way in boosting the medical arm of the organisation and thanked him for the gesture.
Mr. Kpaluku said it would also promote adequate first aid administration before further referrals.
He said overtime, TIMARIV officers in the course of discharging their duties had had series of assault cases that required urgent medical attention, adding that such had necessitated the establishment of a medical unit in the headquarters and in the six different zones.
According to him, the unit with the help of some qualified nurses, had been able to administer first aid treatments and handled other minor cases to save life, stressing that, “Every second counts in saving life”.
The zonal controller on behalf of the management commended the Centre for partnering with the Authority and called on other organisations, institutions and individuals to partner with the outfit by providing logistic support, such as traffic infrastructures, operations equipment, office furniture and medical equipment.
Earlier, while presenting the equipment, Dr. Felix Okechukwu Erondu said the donation was in recognition of TIMARIV selfless services toward humanity in the state and to partner with them to achieve greater impact in effective traffic management in Rivers State.
