‘Work On M10 Road in Progress’
The Administrator of Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority (GPHCDA), Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the M10 Freeway awarded to Lubrik Construction Company Ltd.
Mrs. Cookey-Gam said this yesterday at Igwuruta, during an inspection of the N30.9 billion M10 road project, adding that the Freeway which has two interchanges and one bridge section, when completed, would bring tremendous economic and social benefits to the state.
Mrs. Cookey-Gam also urged those whose properties are situated within the road reserve to cooperate with the contractor to deliver the project on time.
Speaking, Managing Director of Lubrik Company, Gilbert Sassine, stressed that despite heavy rains, the entire 11-kilometre stretch had been cleared to link Ikwerre Road, promising that the 30 months contract would be delivered on schedule.
The 40-kilometre Dual Carriage Freeway contract connects the Port Harcourt International Airport to the Onne Sea Port.
The first phase of the project was awarded to Lubrik Construction Company Ltd in March 2012, and connects the Prof. Tam David West Road to Ikwerre Road and opens up the Phase 1A Housing Development Area and the Central Business District in the new city.
