Rivers NUJ Congratulates FAJ President
The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated its National President, Mallam Garba Mohammed on his election as President of the Federation of Africa Journalists in the election conducted in Casablanca, Morocco.
The NUJ in a statement issued by the Rivers State chairman, Mr Opaka Dokubo and the State Secretary, Mr Stanley Job Stanley said the Union was not surprised at the elevation of Mallam Garba, considering his track record which earned him the NUJ president and subsequently president of the West Africa Journalists Association (WAJA).
The union described Mallam Garba Mohammed as a silent achiever, pragmatic in character whose focus and vision have brought him to the height with prospect to go even higher.
The Rivers State Council of NUJ enjoined Mallam Garba to use his new position to better the lot of Journalists in Africa and particularly in Nigeria and engender national development.
