Monarch Hails NDDC Road Projects
The Traditional Ruler of Akeme Community in Arondizogu, Ideator North Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Mike Nwosu has commended the new Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) headed by Dr. Christian Oboh for their people-oriented projects in the region.
Eze Nwosu made the commendation during the handing over of four completed road projects embarked upon by the commission to the people of the communities recently.
The Projects include internal roads in St. Marks estate and Federal housing Estate in the new Owerri, Ejizie-Izuogu road in Akeme community as well as a solar-powered water project in Mbaoma in Owerri North, all in Imo State.
According to him, the people of the area have seen the good works of the Commission, adding that the people could now testify that the commission does not compromise on standards, and enjoined them to keep up the tempo.
“The road NDDC has built for us is our own dividend of democracy and we look forward to getting more projects”, the monarch said, and expressed the gratitude of the people as the roads would ease their transportation.
Speaking earlier while inaugurating the projects, the Managing Director of NDDC, Dr. Christian Oboh said the commission was determined to make its presence felt in all parts of the Niger Delta region and charged them to make good use of them.
Dr. Oboh, who was represented by the Imo State representative on the board of the NDDC, Ezeobi Peter, assured that amenities provided would ensure for a long time because of their high standard of quality.
He noted that the Commission would no longer accept haphazard jobs any longer, saying “excellence is our hallmark”, and assured that the projects would meet their demands.
The handing over ceremony witnessed fan fares amidst dancing and encomiums.
