VC Warns Students Against Cultism
The Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, Prof. Hussein Oloyede, has warned students to steer clear of cultism, indecent dressing and other forms of social vices.
Oloyede, who gave the warning on Wednesday in Osogbo at the matriculation of 173 students, said the university had zero tolerance for indiscipline.
Our correspondent reports that the vice-chancellor urged the new students to be morally upright in their academic pursuits as sanctions await incorrigible elements.
“This matriculation ceremony entitles the new students the rights and privileges of this university community but they must abide by the university’s rules and regulations. “All students must as well comply with all the laid down guidelines and norms for good behaviour as members of a civilised and noble community,” he said.
Oloyede said that 98 students were admitted into the College of Management and Social-Sciences to study Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics and Political Science.
He also said 75 students were admitted into the College of Natural and Applied Science to study Biochemistry and Nutrition, Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial and Environmental Chemistry, Microbiology and Physics Electronics.
“This university is fully residential for both male and female students and it provides avenue for inculcating moral values in students. “We also encourage Christian students to carry out their religious activities,” he added.
