The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Environmental Sanitation Authority (RSESA), Mr. Ade Adeogun has expressed dissatisfaction over the poor attitude of some residents of Port Harcourt and its environs in observing sanitation days.
The sanitation boss made his displeasure known while monitoring the execise which took him to Eagle Island, Ikweme Road and Town areas particularly Creek Road, among others.
At Eagle Island, a market ws in session a situation which prompted the arrest of more than five women who were found selling.
In Eagle Island proper, the Sole Administrator was further shocked to find out that most of the youths were engaged in football to the detriment of the sanitation exercise.
At the NNPC Mega Station along station road, the Sole Administrator questioned staff on the rationale behind the parking of a broken down tanker at the front of the fuel station.
The tanker, belonging to the NNPC with registration No Lagos XU 801 MUS was reportedly parked there by a higher authority for the past eight months.
At the creek road market, residents were seen playing football and on sighting the sanitation officials took to their heels.
At one end of the creek road market, some men (mallam) were seen without care about the sanitation exercise.
They were only busy dressing their sugar cane for sale and when confronted by the sanitation boss on their non compliance they claimed they did not have where to dump their waste.
However, they were ordered to evacuate the waste to one of the designated sites nearby.
