National Open University Matriculates 1,000 Students
The Port Harcourt Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), says it has admitted about 1,000 students for the 2012/2013 academic year.
The Vice Chanellor of NOUN, Prof. Vincent Ado Tenebe, stated this in a message delivered at the 8th Matriculation Ceremony in Port Harcourt, recently.
The Vice Chancellor, who was represented by the Director of Port Harcourt Study Centre, Prof. G.I.A. Nwogu, advised the newly-admitted students to utilise their opportunity efficiently.
According to him, the style of education delivery in NOUN will equip the students to become multi-dimensional professionals after graduation, adding that it would make them useful in the international market.
He said for students to study successfully in NOUN, they have to be very versatile with the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools.
“It may interest you to note that our examinations are both electronic and pen-on-paper based.
The information dissemination and administrative process of NOUN are mainly based on electronic system”, he said.
He urged the students to work hard to change their destiny, uplift their knowledge and upgrade their living standards adding that, it would improve the conditions of their neighbours and create a better society.
