Reach Out Nigeria Table Tennis Gets Increased Prize Money
The organisers of the annual Reach Out Nigeria Table Tennis Championships have said that the increase in the prize money for the competition would make it more competitive.
The President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), Kayode Abdulwahab-Omotose, said the sponsor, Emeka Nnabuko, had increased the funding from N1 million to N2 million.
Nnabuko is the head pastor of Christ Embassy Church, Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Abdulwahab-Omotose said the championships would hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Uyo Township Stadium, from September 24 to October 1.
“It is a good development and a boost to the NTTF sponsorship drive, and we are happy that players will go home with something to show for their good performances,’’ he added.
He listed the events in the eight-day tournament to include the cadet, junior and senior boys and girls singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
The NTTF president commended Nnabuko for responding to their sponsorship appeal and contributing to the development of the game.
He said the federation was working hard to get more sponsors to enable it execute its programmes.
