Rivers Introduces Essay Competition For Public Servants
As part of activities to mark the 2012 Civil Service Week celebration in Rivers State, an Essay Writing Competition has been introduced for public servants in the State.
This was disclosed at a meeting of the Central Planning Committee of the 2012 Civil Service Week celebration held at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Head of Service in Port Harcourt.
The Essay competition, with the topic, ‘Indiscipline: Bane of Effective Service Delivery’, is divided into two categories, officers between grade levels 03-06 and 07-16 with cash prizes ranging from N30,000 to N100,000.
Interested public servants who fall within the stipulated categories are advised to check with their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies for details.
The Civil Service Day, which is held annually on June 23 in the entire African continent in commemoration of the contributions of civil servants to national development, has been rescheduled to hold in the State from July 15-18, 2012.
