Keshi Leads Nigerian Coaches To ‘B’ Course
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Alhaji Aminu Maigari has praised the calibre of Nigerian coaches attending the ongoing CAF ‘B’ Licence programme.
The programme is organised by the NFF, and endorsed by the Confederation of African Football.
The two-week programme began last weekend at the FIFA Technical Centre, Abuja, with over 80 Nigerian coaches in attendance, and was formally declared open on Tuesday by the NFF President.
“I am happy about the calibre of persons here. You can never get it better anywhere else in the country. This is the cream of Nigeria coaching personnel,” Maigari said early in the week.
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi is among the participants, alongside his assistants Daniel Amokachi, Sylvanus Okpala, and Ike Shorounmu, with former Super Eagles’ supremo Austin Eguavoen, U-20 Coach John Obuh, U-17 Coach Manu Garba and former Super Falcons’ Ntiero Effiom.
There are also Alphonsus Dike, Dr Salami Isiaka, Niyi Akande, Egan Adat, Charles Bassey, Danladi Nasidi, Stanley Eguma, Okey Emordi, Godwin Uwua, Fatai Amao, Ben Duamlong, Gift Okunwa, Nicholas Ukadike, Bethel Orji, David Egbiri, Dan Evumena, Rolandson Odeh, Erasmus Omuh, among others.
Certificates have been handed out to those who passed the CAF ‘C’ License Course, which was held six months ago.
Apart from Nigerian Instructors Adegboye Onigbinde, Kashimawo Laloko, James Peters, Monday Sinclair and Amodu Shaibu, CAF has also sent veteran Ghanaian Fred Osam Duodu to oversee the programme, which will also take in the CAF ‘B’ Equivalent.
Duodu, who led Ghana’s Black Stars to win the 1978 African Cup of Nations title on home soil, flew into Nigeria on Wednesday.
