Coach Urges NFA To Seek More Corporate Sponsorship
The Technical Adviser of Rangers International FC of Enugu, Okey Emodi, has urged the Nigeria Football Association (NFF) to source for more viable corporate sponsorship to support its programmes.
Emodi told newsmen in Enugu last weekend that football could not be run on government patronage alone, but through multiple streams of income.
According to him, NFA are doing their best to beef up all the lapses recorded in football in the past with regards to poor officiating which he said could be curtailed if match officials are well remunerated.
“Once the officiating is fine, you see good football. Nobody will say this is home or away during matches.
“All the same, I appeal that government should step up to whatever they are doing to empower the NFA finance wise for optimal performance.
“I think they are doing a good job to improve the country’s football,” Emodi said.
On the country’s performance in football, the Rangers technical adviser said it had improved more than it was in the past and hoped that coaches and the players would complement the development of the game through their performances on the field.
