TIMA-RIV Urges Cooperation With Traffic Marshals
In a bid to further ensure free flow of traffic on our roads in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Road Traffic Management Authority (Tima-Riv), has appealed to the public to co-operate with all the traffic marshals sent to the various control points in the metropolis.
The Head, Media and Public Enlightenment unit of the Authority, Sir Victor Iyalla made the appeal while speaking on the recent retraining programme of officers of the authority in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the call became necessary inorder to create better relationship among the motoring public and all the traffic control officers and management of the authorities in the state.
Iyalla declared that TIMARIV would continue to ensure a desirable standard of atmosphere to achieve ultimate results in traffic management and control in the State.
“We shall work as a team to remove all the terrible hold-ups and blockages on our roads. It is therefore important to ask for your co-operation and understanding”, the image maker said.
He used the forum to advise motorists not to drive recklessly, or over-speed, drive without seat belts, drive against the traffic or park at unauthorised places, adding that “our prayer for all road users is safe driving and less traffic hold-ups”.
The compulsory retraining programme of all the regular marshals of TIMARIV, which was held at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Sports Complex (Civic Centre) handball pitch and at the ministry of Justice Conference Hall featured parades and lectures respectively.
