Commissioner Wants Retirees To Appreciate God

Mr. Chinye gave this charge in Port Harcourt recently, during a farewell party in honour of some retired staff of the Commerce Ministry.
The Commissioner also advised the retirees to always engage themselves in meaningful activities such as farming, pointing out that agriculture is a very lucrative business.
He encouraged them to be prayerful and committed to the things of God , in order to enjoy their retirement to its fullness.
He however advised other Civil Servants to always plan for their retirement while in service, noting that preparing for retirement with an adequate planning would give retirees a focus on how to utilise their gratuity.
The Commissioner advised Staff of the Ministry to see the Commerce and Industry Ministry as business outfit that demand serious and committed service.
Chinye told the staff to see the Ministry as any other viable business like the banking, insurance companies, and stressed the need for staff to change their attitude and perception in order to accommodate improvement.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Sir Awoye bob-Manuel advised the retirees to use their gratuity reasonably.
He warned staff of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry against attitude that would be inimical to the progress and development of their duties.
