‘Stakeholders, Vital To Education Sector’
The chairman of Bayelsa State Local Government Service Commission (BSLGSC), Chief Monovie Ogbara, has noted that stakeholders have a role to play in repositioning the nation’s education sector.
Chief Ogbora stated this last week shortly after he was conferred with a meritorious public service award by the board of the Faculty of Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) as part of activities marking the commemoration of the institutions 50th anniversary.
According to him, “There must be an all stakeholder partnership in education before Nigeria’s educational sector can be salvaged from the doldrums”.
He advised university authorities that while relying on government for funding, they should mind every available resources from society through a public-private partnership in the delivery of knowledge services.
Chief Ogbara said a robust partnership between universities and the private sector would produce the needed resources to keep university system afloat.
