Medals Haul Excites NTTF Scribe In Maputo
The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has described the gold and silver medals in mixed doubles at the All Africa Games as a remarkable progress.
NTTF’s Secretary, Segun Oguntade, told Tidesports source in Maputo that the feat would intimidate the country’s oponents at the 10th Africa’s sports fiesta.
Oguntade said that three pairs of mixed doubles were presented for the event, while two got to the final.
The secretary said that in spite of the inability to undergo a training tour before the
Games, he was confident that the players were capable of winning their individual and team events.
‘’Though we did not embark on any training tour because of visa problems, the invitational tournament in Cameroun aided the athletes.
‘’The more you go for competitions, the more experience you gain, and I think this has assisted the players in their performance at the Games,’’ Oguntade said.
He was optimistic that the players would also do well in their singles and doubles events.
The doubles event holds at the Centro Islamico centre, Maputo.
