Presenting the books, the Exercutive Director of the Agency, Mr. Noble Pepple said that the gesture was in fulfillment of the promise made by the Agency during the Excellent in Local Government Initiative (ELGI) End of Tenure Awards, in the state in which Gokana Local Government Council emerged overall best while Tai took the third pace among the 23 local government councils in the state.
Mr. Pepple said that the materials would help to advance educational development of the areas particularly reading culture amongst the students of the local government areas.
He also said that the RSSDA education development initiative particularly donation of books would act as a moral booster to the beneficiaries and also challenge other local government areas to perform in project implementation.
He also presented two cartons of Glo handsets and some agricultural equipment to two local government areas.
The chairman of Gokana Local Government Council, Hon. Demua L. Demua and his Tai counterpart Gbenekanu Kuapie thanked the RSSDA for the gesture promising to sustain the position of their respective councils in the ELGI programme.
They also charge the students of the local government areas to utilise the advantages offered by the RSSDA gesture to improve their academic and reading habit so as to justify the huge investment by the agency.
