LNG Boss Advocates Job Creation For Youths
The Chairman of Brass Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Limited, Dr. Jackson Gaius – Obaseki, has said that opening of more universities without job opportunities for the graduates of such institutions would increase criminality in the society.
He, therefore, challenged relevant authorities on the need to create jobs for the teeming population of graduates as a means of reducing crime and poverty in the country.
Speaking during a church service to mark his 65th birthday anniversary in Benin-City, Edo State, Dr. Gaius – Obaseki insisted that such jobs should be sustainable.
According to him, the first index of assessing governance all over the world is job creation pointing out that as long as the country has failed to do that, there would be insecurity.
Dr. Gaius – Obaseki, who was the former group managing director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), said that the federal government recently approved the establishment of new universities in the six geo-political zones stressing that though it was a good step, efforts should be geared towards matching it with available jobs.
The officiating priest, Rev. Fr. Festus Ogbonmwan charged Nigerian leaders on the need to exhibit integrity and strong character as well as keep to the promises they made to the people.
