‘Voters Registration Exercise, Your Right’
A prominent chief and a frontline politician in Rivers State, Chief John Obi has advocated for massive campaign at the grassroots to create the much-needed awareness in the forthcoming revision of voters’ exercise.
Chief Obi, the Onueze of Ndoni and Eze Oshimili of Ogbaland in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area stated this while addressing youths in the area.
He advised the people not to be indifferent or nonchalant towards the major democratic exercise described as the bedrock of political activities.
Chief Obi further said that the revision of voters exercise should not be regarded as government programme but that of the people, adding that politics was for all and not the exclusive reserve of any government.
He called on the youths to shun unpatriotic acts to justify their role as future leaders by complementing the laudable efforts of the State Government towards an egalitarian society.
In the same vein, the Okpajinigwe of Ndoni, Chief Stanley Opia-Obi urged the youths to embrace the various skills introduced by the Rivers State Government to empower themselves.
Chief Opia-Obi spoke against idleness, describing it as the engine room for evils.
He said time had now come for youths to engage themselves in any productive venture as a means of sanitising the society for an overall political and socio-economic development.
