RSNC GM Harps On Moral Rectitude
The General Manger of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Mr. Celestine Ogolo, has called on youths in the state to shun acts that could bring disrepute to their families and the state.
Mr. Ogolo, who gave the advice during a courtesy call on him by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Rivers State chapter in his office, Wednesday urged members of the council to explore the various programmes put in place by the present administration to develop themselves.
He hinted that the Amaechi administration had instituted scholarship programmes for youths, while the enabling environment was being created for businesses in the state.
The General Manager also urged multinational companies in the state to support the youth council, especially in its proposed programme against thuggery and electoral malpractices.
He commended the council for its peaceful disposition, and assured that the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation would publicise the activities of the organisation.
The state Chairman of the council, Mr. Oko-Jaja Bethel had earlier said that the visit was aimed at soliciting the support of the corporation in its proposed youth compaign against thuggery and electoral malpractices.
Mr. Bethel disclosed that the campaign was to educate Rivers youths on the dangers of thuggery and electorial malpractices.
He called for assistance to publish the Youth Voice magazine, and commended the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for promoting youth activities in the state.
