Ubimini Crisis: Youths Want Honourable Member’s Intervention
The leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Chidi Lloyd has been urged to intervene in the crisis currently rocking Ubimini community in the Emohua local government area.
In a press release made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt by the concerned youths of Ubimini, the community attributed the crisis to the activities of the supervisor and community liaison officer (CLO) incharge of the road project being embarked upon by the hon. member.
According to the youths, the two officials incharge of the project have refused to involve all sections of youths in the community in the road project, stressing that youths of umuetti quarters of the community were left out in manual jobs such as gutter excavation.
The youths also described as false the alleged linkage of the crisis to some prominent sons of Ubimini, warning those peddling such lies to “desist forthwith in their own interest”.
While commending Hon. Lloyd for considering the community for the project, the youths however advised him not to allow himself to be “hoodwinked by those whose stock in trade is to cause confusion”.
A text message sent to the hon member on the matter yesterday was not replied, while the CLO and the supervisors incharge of the project refused to pick their calls.
