Anolga Boss Restates Commitment To Educational Development
Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Emilia Gilbert Nte has pledged to give more attention to the educational development of the area.
Hon. Nte, who said this during the donation of books and commissioning of mini libraries to three schools in Ngo by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Mina Ikuru, also restated her council’s preparedness to partner with organisations and individuals for the development of education in the area.
She thanked the wife of the Deputy Governor for the gesture and urged for the opportunities to be extended to other schools in the area.
In his welcome address, the principal of the Universal Basic Education (UBE), section of Government Secondary School, Ngo, Mr. Isaac Lawrence Meloh said the gesture will help to boast education in the local government area.
“We in the education industry recognise the importance of a well equipped library to any educational institution.
“But we regret to note that most of our highly placed and educated sons and daughters do not realise the importance of education to the growth and development of the people, so they pay lip service to the education of our children”, he said.
The benefiting schools are Government Secondary Schools Ngo, both the Senior and Junior Secondary Schools sections and community primary school II, Ngo.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt.
