55-Year-Old Widow Kidnapped In PH
A 55-year-old woman was last Saturday night kidnapped in Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital.
The woman whose name was given as Madam Josephine Nwachi, a widow was kidnapped at Orameru- zimgbu, behind the NDDC building on Aba Road.
Eye witness said the kidnappers stormed the resident in a modest Audi 80 car. The source further said that three of the hoodlums jumped out of the car with guns shown was dragged out two male relatives sitting beside the woman before dragging her into the car and zoomed off.
The Commissioner of Police in River State, Mr. Bala Hassan confirmed the kidnap.
Some residents who spoke with The Tide expressed disappointment that with all the police check points strategically located in the major streets of Port Harcourt kidnappers could still launch successful operations.
that the unfortunate scenario is a pointer that insecurity is gradually creeping back into the garden city. They maintained that the police should at this time do less ‘roger’ (collection of bribes) and more serious security work at checkpoints.
