CIBN To Commence Microfinance Certification Programme
The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has mapped out plan to commence microfinance certification programme in the country.
This, according to the institute, is part of its effort to sustain the reforms in the Banking sector.
Mr Laoye Jaiyeola, president, CIBN who stated this at a barkers dinner in Lagos recently said, the institute has finalised arrangements for the commencement of microfinance certification programme.
However, the apex bank had mandated micro finance institutions to enroll in the CIBN for their certification programme.
Speaking at the annual Barkers dinner, the CIBN boss said, “The focus of the on-going repositioning of the banking industry by the CBN is appreciated and the institute will continue to identify with positive and legitimate actions taken to ensure a safe and sound banking environment.
