Committee Advises Minister On Re-branding Project
Minister of Information and Communications, Dora Akunyili, has been advised to establish “rebranding secretariats” nationwide as well as “rebranding offices” in airports and seaports across the country
Other steps needed to be taken by the Minister include establishing of a project and Institutional Monitoring and EvaluationTeam” to manage and co-ordinate the entire rebranding initiative.
Speaking while persecuting the technical report of the committee on rebranding of the committee and former Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Tonnie Iredia noted that there was need to make the average Nigerian recognise that the rebranding programme was not just the project of government.
He said there was need for every ministry and department of government to know the aspect of its work that can impact the re-branding campaign.
“We are not just advising that action should speak louder than voice but rather we are saying that there should be a system approach to the rebranding project, which suggest that the different parts of the system will be working together with the Ministry of Information co-ordinating this different parts to ensure that her is a unity of direction and perhaps uniformity in operation”.
