Delta SWAN Seeks Cooperation From Members On NYG
Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Delta State Chapter has charged visiting journalists from across the country to the host State for the 7th National Youth Games (NYG) to collaborate with journalists in the state in giving the public the true pictures of events as it unfolds during the games which commenced on yesterday.
Chairman of the state sports writers, Christian Eze, said it is unprofessional and unprogressive for some journalist, to see only the negative side when reporting event.
While admonishing them, he said such reporters may think their report will draw attention for a temporary and selfish benefit but their myopic reasoning will blindfold them to know that they are giving Nigeria as a country a negative image.
Also Secretary, Delta State SWAN, Ogo Clarkson, reminded journalists that events such as the youth games create avenue for budding among journalists in the country.
The CEO of Topsports Afrik remind those who are sourcing for negative stories to note that Delta State as a Big Heart that accommodate everyone especially with the access to the Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission, Tonobok Okowa, do not mean that they will encourage any form of distraction.
He advised all to put effort to support the Delta State government who at these difficult times took up the responsibility to host the 7th National Youth Games.
