NPFL: Scoring Winning Goal Excites Chukwu
Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt midfielder, Morice Chukwu, has said that he was excited to score the winning and only goal for his club against Sunshine Stars of Akure.
The 1-0 victory has moved Rivers United to top Group B of the abridged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), as the encounter seems to be one of the toughest games for United.
Chukwu said this on Monday in an exclusive interview with Tidesports shortly after the end of the encounter, in a rescheduled match day 12 of NPFL at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
According to him, Sunshine Stars was a good team that always give United tough time in Port Harcourt.
“ I am so happy that I scored the only goal of the match, because Sunshine Stars is a team that always give us tough time.
“ I am aware that the game will be tough. They too are struggling to secure ticket for Super Six but thank God I scored the only goal. Our target is for the Super Six so we are taking every game very serious.
“My prayer is to score more goals for my team. We will ensure we secure victory in the two remaining matches,” Chukwu stated.
